Our founder, Jack Alexander, started a dump truck business at the age of 16 in Shelby county. Mr. Alexander went into World War II as a CB. This is where he learned much of his construction experience at the time. After the war, he partnered with Jack Barker and started Alexander & Barker construction; then entered into state highway construction. Several years later, he entered business with another partner, O.H. Polly. Mr. Alexander continued his highway construction until he broke away from his partners, and Started Jack Alexander, INC. His son, Jim "Randy" Alexander joined him in business in 1975. Since that time, they have broaden their horizons into road work with timber companies, oilfield construction, and Quarry Aggregate production. Mr. Alexander past away in 1998, and Randy continued the business, expanding even more into Aggregate production and the creation of Alexander Asphalt.
